Latymer Upper School is part of an education foundation dating back to 1624. The current school has occupied its King Street site since 1895 and grown to provide a first class education for 920 boys and 20 girls.
Buildings and facilities have constantly been modernised with well-resourced departments, a computer network system, large sports hall, up to date DT facilities, and a newly refurbished Chemistry suite.
Academic results are traditionally good with two in three of 'A' Level results in a large Sixth Form, being A or B grades. Virtually all boys proceed to University with a significant number to Oxford and Cambridge.
The school has a strong tradition of excellent pastoral care. Teams of tutors deliver a coherent programme promoting involvement in the community, charity work, and the personal, social and academic development of boys in their form.
The Extra-Curricular Activity Programme is rich and varied permitting choice yet maintaining high standards in Music, Drama and Sports. The School's Boat Club has direct river access. Foreign exchanges, trips and tours, including European work experience provide plenty of opportunity to broaden horizons.
Entry is at 7+, 8+, or 9+, into The Latymer Preparatory School, or at 11+ and 13+ into the Main School by competitive examinations and interview. Boys can register up to December 1st of the year preceding entry. Sixth Form entry is open to those who achieve good GCSE results including girls, 40 of whom join each year. There are Scholarships, Bursaries and Assisted Places.
The School co-operates closely with The Godolphin and Latymer School for girls and many extra-curricular activities are held jointly.
